School rugby's most popular tournament will kick off on 3 March
Defending Singer League champions Royal College will lock horns with the school which started rugby in the country, Kingswood, at the Royal College Sports Complex on 3 March.
It is reliably learnt that sponsorship for this mega event is being decided between Dialog and Singer and the tournament is very likely to come under the purview of national governing body Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR).
In Division 1A there will be 12 teams locking horns with each group consisting of six teams. The top four from each group will play the other group’s top four in round one to decide the fate of the winner. Royal College will play the first leg of their Bradby Shield encounter as a tournament game on 20 April at the Royal Sports Complex. Two weeks later Trinity will host them for the second leg at their Pallekelle Rugby Stadium in a friendly encounter.
