The Sri Lanka Women’s Rugby outfit left the island last night to South Korea for the second leg which will take place at the Namdong Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. The outfit will be led by promising player, Sanjeewani De Silva.
Sri Lanka Head CoachSudath Sampath told Daily FT: “We displayed good rugby on the second day in Hong Kong at the first leg. Match exposure was the major issue for the girls. Once settled down they performed well as a team. Our aim is to end in the top four in this leg. We need to get the better of Hong Kong which we can and are capable of. We had good sessions after arriving from the Hong Kong tour and girls are eager to go. We have taken in two under 20 players into the touring squad. They are Nimesha Wijewardena and Jeewanthi Gunawardena, those two playerscaught the selectors’ eyes in early stages of their rugby career.”
