B.A. Sanjeewa continued his consistency returning as one under par 70 in the final round to clinch victory in the Sri Lanka Golf LECTRA Grand Prix 2019 June edition at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club Course. The closely contested June edition had an unexpected turn of events with Amarapadma one stroke behind Sanjeewa and local golfer Vinoth Kumar a further one stroke behind playing in the final flight, Sanjeewa holding his nerve and Kumar carding a 77 whilst Amarapadma was disqualified on a technicality in the crucial final round.
As a result Sanjeewa won by a comfortable nine strokes from M.U. Chanaka Perera the reigning Amateur Champion, with Kumar of the NEGC taking third place one stroke behind the Runner-Up. The overall LECTRA Grand Prix Ranking Leader after the May Edition, G.P. Sisira Kumara, finished in fourth place, followed by Sri Lanka Junior Golf Team former Captain Januka Dilshan, now graduated to the senior ranks.

The LECTRA Grand Prix Monthly Tournament scores are counted for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) which is monitored by R&A the governing body of World Golf, providing an international ranking to all amateurs in the Asia-Pacific region.
