The LECTRA Grand-Prix conducted by the Sri Lanka Golf Union is poised for a close finish with B.A. Sanjeewa inching ahead of J.M.D. Indika after 3 rounds of the 4 round event, sponsored by Apparel Technologies, a member of the Bobbin Group of Companies.
On a difficult day for scoring the best card was a four over par 75. Navinda Ranga also had a 75 to take third place just 2 strokes behind the leader Sanjeewa. Pradeep Kumara returned a third consecutive 76 to lie in 4th place eight strokes behind the leader. The top 3 have opened up a five stroke lead from the rest of the field. NEGC local amateur Vinoth Kumar had an uncharacteristic 83 to slip down to 5th place 9 strokes adrift of the leader. National Champ Chanaka Perera and Grand-Prix leader Sisira Kumara take 6th and 7th place, with 10 too many strokes to catch the leader with just one more round to go.
The final round will determine the winner but not before the expectation of a thrilling finish and probably an unexpected twist to the script.
