Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the ultra-high speed broadband services provider in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Southern Motor Sports Club (SMSC) was proud to announce that the 24th edition of the SLT Speedup Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb has been scheduled for 22 and 23 February at Browns Hill, Matara.
SLT will be powering the renowned motor race this year for the fifth time running. The announcement was made at a press conference conducted by SLT and SMSC, at (Asi Disi Medura – Colombo 5), on 28 January.
Conducted under the theme ‘SLT Speedup,’ this motor race is yet another initiative through which SLT seeks to contribute towards supporting and empowering sports in the country to next level of its category, and motor racing in particular. The SLT Speedup theme has been chosen to align with the ultra-high speed broadband internet experience which the company brings to its customers through its superior fibre technology.
This year’s race will comprise of motorists vying for three main trophies: Fastest Timing – Motor Car, Fastest Timing – Motor Bike and Fastest Timing of the Day. It will comprise 17 motor car events and 12 motorcycle events.
The SLT Speedup Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb is a national championship event approved by Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS), the governing body in Sri Lanka for motor sports.
SLT, together with SMSC, invites motor racing enthusiasts from all across Sri Lanka as well as others to attend this event and witness Sri Lankan motor sports at its finest.
