North Western Province B stamp their class

Women’s Rugby Development sevens tournament was conducted by the Women’s Rugby Committee of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) and sponsored by South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT) with the participation of 12 teams at the Navy ground in Welisara recently.

North Western B beat Southern Province A in the Cup final while in the Plate final Uva A beat North Western B. Bowl final was between Western Province who beat Sabaragamuwa A. Shield encounter saw Sabaragamuwa B beating Central Province.

SAGT Chief Commercial Officer Ted Muttiah was the Chief Guest along with Guest of Honour Navy Rugby Committee Chairman, Rear Admiral H.A.U.D. Hettiarachchi, and Sri Lanka Rugby President, Lasitha Gunaratne and Sri Lanka Rugby Deputy President, Rizly Ilyas gave away the awards. Col. Dhammika Gunasekera, Chairman Women’s Rugby Development organised the tournament which was sponsored by SAGT propping up with women’s rugby in the country in tandem.
