Richmond College, Galle and Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo clinched the boys’ and girls’ Super-A Division titles respectively at the Inter-Schools Badminton Under-19 Team Championships which took place in Kegalle recently.
The tournament was organised by the Sabaragamuwa Province Badminton Association (SPBA) under the patronage of Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association (SLSBA). DS Senanayake College, Colombo and Anula Vidyala, Nugegoda, were the runners-up in the boys’ and girls’ categories of the Super-A division.
Ananda College emerged Division Aboys’ champions while Our Lady of Victories Convent, Moratuwa won the girls’ category.
Royal College, Colombo and Dharamsoka College, Ambalangoda were the runners-up. The matches were conducted under five categories (Super A, A, B, C, D and E) at the Municipal Council Indoor Stadium in Kegalle. Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya who is also the President of the SPBA, Sri Lanka Badminton Vice President Parakrama Basnayake, SLSBA Secretary Saman Wijesinghe and other SLSBA officials were present at the awards presentation.
