Action at CR vs Police

Police Sports Club came out with a magnificent performance to get in to their second win in the Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) conducted Inter Club Rugby League 2022 rugby encounter at Police Park last week-end when they made mockery out of the inconsistent Red Shirt outfit by 20 points (3 tries, 1 conversion, 1 penalty) to 3 (1 penalty).
At the short breather winners led 13/3.
Police looked a much superior outfit doing equally good in attack as well as in defence. They created number of gaping holes to breach CR defence on no less than 3 occasions to touch down. The visitors from Longdon Place could not cross the Police line.
Police scored first through Yohan Peiris penalty but CR equalized soon after through Yasas Kavinda. Police scored their first try through Danushka Edirisuriya in the 25th minute of play to increase the lead to 8/3. Police had time for one more first half try through Deshan Fernando.
After the turn around Police Centre, Vihanga Pivithuru scored Police’s third try with Yohan Peiris adding the extras to give an easy win for the Cops.
