St. Peters will defend their title which they won in 2019
Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SSRFA) conducted All Island Under-18 Rugby Sevens 2023 will take place among the top 32 rugby playing schools in the Island today at Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele and Bogambara Stadium, while the second days (5 March) matches will take place at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.
All 32 teams will see them playing in eight groups with each group containing four teams and on the opening day playing three group matches. Team ranked number 1 in each group will move to the Cup quarter finals.
The losers of these events will be relegated to the Plate semi-final while the winners move on to the Cup semi-finals. Second placed teams will play in the Bowl quarter final while the third placed teams will lock horns in the Shield quarter final. The fourth placed teams in each of the eight groups will not move forward for day two which will result in 24 teams moving forward for day two.
Peterites are the defending champions with Trinity defending Plate win. This event is being played after a three years wait with the last one in 2019.
