Peterites continued their winning streak when they beat the second Kandy school Vidyartha at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium 34/5. Earlier they handed off Rajans 50/14.
Meanwhile there were wins for Trinity and S. Thomas while Royal vs. Kingswood, Isipathana vs. Wesley and Dharmaraja vs. Science encounters were postponed. The new dates for these encounters will be notified by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association in the near future. Most shocking for the rugby-loving public was that the two Colombo schools, St Peter’s and D S Senanayake were allowed to play their game in the Central Hills, but Kingswood who were supposed to play Royal were told to return back to Kandy, without being able to play their encounter at Royal Sports Complex. D S went on to beat Sylvester’s 41/11.
At the short breather winners led 10/0.
Peterites played well with very good coordination between their scrum half, Ashen Ranasinghe and Thenuka Nanayakkara. In fact Ashen’s decision making was spot on. He got ample support from Thenuka Nanayakkara who played as a fly half. His kick at goal was average but he either worked the three quarters or kicked at touch with top accuracy.
Meanwhile Vidyartha played well in patches. They showed a good defence in the first half allowing the visitors only to score 2 tries, but they missed out many opportunities for them to make a comeback in to the game. Skipper, Kalugampitiya and Kaluarachchi played well for the Kandy school along with their speedy three quarter line.
Senura Perera drew first blood for the Peterites early in the 2nd minute of the game. Their second try was scored by Ishan Perera. Home team missed a sitter in front of the posts on stroke of half time.
After the turn around Udagedera put over a penalty for Vidyartha but that was it as the Bambalapitiya lads scored tries through Thenuka Nanayakkara (2), Ishan Fernando and Dilshan Madushanka. Thenuka Nanayakkara converted two of them.

Trinity hand off Antonians
Trinity College continued their winning streak when they outclassed St Anthony’s 26/5.
The game was played sans spectators due to the health issue in the country, where Trinity led 19/5 at the short breather.
Trinity drew first blood in the 4th minute of the game when their Fly half, Thamuditha Dodanwatte sliced through the Antonian defence to score. He added the extra 2 points to take an early 7/0 lead. Trinity went further ahead through a superb try by Centre, Harsha Samarasinghe. Soon afterwards Antonians replied with a try by their fly half, Bawan Nishanth. Minutes later Trinity centre, Harsha Samarasinghe dummied his way to score his second try of the match. Chamod Muthunayake added the extras.
After the turnaround Trinity scored through their flanker, Ruvishan Pananwela. In the end Antonians made number of attacks but lacked the finishing touches.
Trinity need to work on the error counts where they received 4 yellow cards in this encounter.
