Dinesh Priyantha, who won a bronze medal in the Javelin Throw event at Rio Paralympics in Brazil in 2016 and a silver medal at the World Para Athletics Championships in London in 2017, met President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat.
He showed his medals to the President, who thanked him for the prestige he had earned for the country.
The President wished him success in his future endeavours.
Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara, President of the Paralympics Committee U.R. Rodrigo and trainer Pradeep Nishantha were also present at the occasion.
