Herath Mudiyanselage Dinesh Priyantha who won the gold medal for the javelin throwing event at the Paralympics in 2020 will be gifted a house in recognition of his achievements.
Cabinet approved a proposal by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to transfer a housing unit worth Rs. 14.2 million from the Metro Home housing project at Slave Island to Priyantha as a free grant.
The house is located in the housing project implemented by the Urban Development Authority and is in recognition of the dedication and glory he brought to the country.
Priyantha was able to bring fame to Sri Lanka at the Paralympic 2020 held in Tokyo Japan by keeping a new world record and winning the gold medal at the javelin throwing event.
