Ahalya wins Captains and Nett Monthly event

Ever Green golfer from Central Region and Club’s Ladies Captain, Ahalya Rajan won the Ladies Captains Cup 2022 event at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) course last weekend.

Another seasoned golfer, Niloo Fernando was pushed to the runner-up position in the same event.

The Century plus years old club also started their Monthly Medal after a lapse of more than two decades. In the Men’s event Brig (rtd) Nanda Hathurusinghe won the nett event while Royalist, Derrick Ponnambalam won the Gross event. Aslam Mohideen too was in sparkling form but ended a little short to end in the top 2.

In the Ladies Monthly Medal Nett event saw, Ahalya Rajan stamping her class while Anouk Chitty won the Gross event. More than 30 golfers teed off in both Men’s and Ladies events in Nuwara Eliya.
