The champion Nawalapitya Central College team celebrate their victory
Nawalapitya Central College powered their way to emerge as the overall winners by beating Defence Services College, Kurunegala on a higher aggregate score at the second leg of the inaugural Dialog Schools Rugby Development 7s Championship played at the Trinity College Rugby Grounds, Pallakele.
The inaugural development Under – 14 tourney was conducted by SLSRFA in partnership with Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider Dialog Axiata PLC, who powers the Schools Rugby League and Knockout tournaments. The main objective of the Dialog Schools Rugby Development 7s 2022 tourney was to identify and develop hidden talent from Sri Lanka’s rural peripheries and take the game of rugby from beyond the boundaries of Colombo and Kandy, where the sport is traditionally played and followed.
