Sri Lanka Sevens training for the Korean leg and UAE leg of the Asia Rugby Sevens 2022 will commence shortly in Colombo.
National selectors who picked up an initial squad are expected to add a few more players who did well in the recently concluded Mercantile Rugby Sevens and Inter Club Sevens.
Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) selected Technical Committee headed by Ajith Abeyratne, Tony Amith, Viper Gunaratne (jnr) and Anil Jayasinghe will come in to action during these two tours.
Sri Lanka likely to play under NOC flag
Sri Lankan national rugby outfit which will be allowed to play at the second and third leg is expected to play under the National Olympic Committee (NOC) flag.
Sri Lankan players who were deprived of participating at the first leg which will kick off in Thailand today (22 October).
Soori likely to lead the outfit
Former Isipathana and Kandy SC player, Srinarth Sooriyabandara is expected to lead the side which will miss the service of Diluksha Dange (injured), Eroshan Perera and Reza Rafaideen (both out of the Island) at present.
