Sri Lanka completed a series sweep (whitewash) over West Indies 3-0 claiming the iconic NDB Bank Cup in the recently held West Indies Tour of Sri Lanka ODI Series. Accordingly, Angelo Mathews who managed to clinch a six-run victory in the last over was named the NDB Bank Cup Man of the Match in the 3rd ODI held at the Pallekele Stadium, Kandy while Wanidu Hasaranga was named the Man of the Series.
True to the bank’s commitment towards the nation’s winning spirit, Sri Lanka emerged victorious, claiming the NDB Bank Cup under the captaincy of the Bank’s Brand Ambassador Dimuth Karunaratne.
Following the win, Karunaratne said “We are happy to be back on the winning track and as the Brand Ambassador of NDB; I am honoured to have brought victory to Sri Lanka with the NDB Bank Cup.” NDB has, for the past 40 years, fostered economic development assisting individuals and conglomerates alike, paving their financial futures for the betterment of the country. In continuation of this journey and the bank’s commitment to their success, this year, one of NDB’s strategic approaches is to focus on supporting and developing sporting activity as a major pillar in brand building endeavors. This was the first time the bank sponsored an international sports event of this calibre.
