Hashen Ramanayake, son of former Sri Lanka fast bowler Champaka Ramanayake, took three wickets to help Saracens SC to their third successive win.

Ragama CC and Kurunegala Youth CC suffered their first defeats in the ongoing SLC Major T20 inter-club tournament to leave NCC (who recorded their fourth consecutive win), Saracens SC and CCC as the only unbeaten sides.

In another day of disappointingly low scores BRC, Badureliya CC, Bloomfield, NCC, Moors SC, SSC, Saracens SC and Panadura SC all recorded victories.

Ragama CC’s and Kurunegala YCC’s unbeaten runs were ended by Panadura SC and SSC, who beat them by 42 runs and seven wickets respectively.

Saracens SC all but had their game sewn up when they reduced Sebastianites to 98-6 in the 17th over but ran into Sachitha Jayatilake who clubbed five sixes on his way to a fabulous 43 off 14 balls that revived Sebastianites hopes as he carried the score to 147 before he was dismissed in the final over. With 15 required off the last four balls the task proved beyond the Sebastianites, as Malinga Amarasinghe who bowled the last over not only accounted for the key wicket of Jayatilake but also picked up another wicket off the final ball of the match as Sebastianites fell short of their target by 12 runs.
