Sri Lanka’s popular nutritional drink Milo will energise the inaugural ‘Aqsarian Super League (ASL) 2020/21’, a football tournament organised by the Al-Aqsa National School, Kinniya in Trincomalee.
The tournament began yesterday (11 March) and will conclude after four days of action-packed football, which will culminate with the grand final on Sunday.
The four-day competition will feature eight teams and is expected to draw greater enthusiasm among football lovers from the area. The ASL 2020/21 will definitely be a treat for the region, where football is popular than any other sport, and sponsors Milo are keen to add more value and professionalism to the tournament.
The organisers of ASL 2020/21 have confirmed that closer to 300 players will get the opportunity to become part of the eight-team competition, running for four days. The tournament will consist of a league stage, followed by a knockout round, from which the ultimate winner will be determined.
Teams that are in contention are Aqsarian Racing Stars, Aqsarian Black Panthers, Aqsarian Blue Eagles, Aqsarian Super Kings, Aqsarian Warriors, Aqsarian Jupitors, Aqsarian Super Fighters and Aqsarian Super Boys. Milo is keen to support the tournament to continue for years to come, as part of their involvement with sports sponsorships and activities for over two decades in Sri Lanka.
