Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport celebrated the historic 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix with an outstanding 1-2 podium finish as their two drivers, defending F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, eased to victory in the recently-concluded Chinese Grand Prix.

The landmark race also marked Lewis Hamilton's 75th career victory and was his second of the 2019 season and sixth overall at the Chinese Grand Prix. The result is also the 90th win for Mercedes-Benz in Formula One.

This is the third consecutive 1-2 finish of Mercedes after the pair’s wins in the Bahrain Grand Prix and Australian Grand Prix back in March, making it the strongest start by any team in F1 history since the early 1990s.Lewis Hamilton with 68 points leads the Drivers’ Championship by 6 points from Valtteri (62 points) while Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport (130 points) leads closest challenger Ferrari by 54 points in the Constructors’ Championship.
