Trinity College, Kandy appointed former CH and FC and New Zealand national Matt Lee as their Head Coach for the 2019 rugby season, which will kick off in the first week of March.
This appointment of the former Hutt Old Marist Coach comes after Lote Raikabullah, another New Zealand Sevens player, started coaching the Kandy outfit last year. Trinity College rugby players spent six weeks training in Auckland, New Zealand during the last two months as their preparation for the upcoming season. Lee, who is with the Wellington Rugby Union, comes in with experience in coaching premiership-winning teams at almost all levels from Under-21 to senior. Lee played for CH and FC about two decades ago in the League encounters, and has a lot of experience badly required by the Trinity rugby players – particularly in the last couple of years.
Trinity Rugby will be under the watchful eyes of Siva Subramaniam, who is the Scrummage President, along with another rugby ‘lion’, Inthi Marikar, being the Director of Rugby. Many surprises await their supporters this season.
