Louise Burrows at Captains breakfast
The former Australian Women’s rugby sensation, former prop forward, the 40-year-old Louise Burrows will be in Colombo attending the Captains Breakfast Forum which will take place tomorrow (12 October) at the Galadari Hotel starting at 7:30 a.m. She was invited by the Asian Rugby which will have its third and the final leg in Colombo on 13 and 14 October at the Race Course rugby stadium.
A representative track cyclist, Louise turned in to rugby played for the Canberra Girls in domestic rugby. She holds a record of four Women’s World Cup campaigns and sets the record till now to have represented their country in the most number of Rugby World Cups. The Wallaroos front-rower has been a shadow player before, missing out on selection for the 2010 World Cup.
After getting selected for the fourth World Cup speaking to the media she said, “I never take anything for granted and I really appreciate every opportunity to wear the green and gold but this for me will be even more special than ever before and I just feel like plenty of people will be riding the emotions for me. I think they’ve felt the heartache over the last couple of months and a lot of people will be there celebrating this achievement achieving my fourth World Cup.”(SJ)
