Former Peterite, Sri Lanka Under-20 skipper and national sevens player, Kevin Dixon will cross over from Park Club to Longdon Place for the 2018/2019 rugby season.
He played as a fly-half and fullback for St. Peters College in the inter-schools rugby championship, captaining during the 2015 season and winning the inter-schools seven’s rugby championship after a long layoff. He had the honour of captaining the Sri Lanka Under-20 national seven’s rugby team in the Asian Championship in 2015, leading to a Under-20 championship win for the first time in Sri Lankan history in 2016. He has the rare distinction of being the only Sri Lankan national under-20 rugby player to captain two times consecutively.
Also, he was the vice-captain of the Sri Lankan fifteen-a-side rugby team which became runners-up in the Asian Under-20 tournament in 2015. After leaving school, he turned out for Havelocks Sports Club in the inter-club rugby tournament.
Dixon will play alongside Kavindu Perera, Tharinda Ratwatte, Reza Rafaideen and Omalka Gunaratne for the CR & FC. He left the island to New Zealand on a private tour, and will be back to make his Club debut at the inter-club sevens early next month. (SJ)
