Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former Sri Lanka wicket-keeper/batsman Lanka de Silva as the interim head coach of the national women’s cricket team.
De Silva, who represented his country in 3 Tests and 11 ODIs in 1997, had earlier held the same position from July 2015 to September 2016.
“Lanka de Silva is the interim coach for the moment until we find a permanent coach for the position,” said Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva.
“It’s only an interim appointment until the end of the year to give us some time to look for someone on a permanent basis,” he said.
Lanka de Silva replaces Harsha de Silva whose two-year contract with SLC from 2018 expires at the end of the month. (ST)
