Sri Lanka cricketers Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis were named captains of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ one-day and four-day squads respectively to play Australia ‘A’ in two 50-over matches and two four-day matches.
A squad of 19 players was selected for the one-day 50-over matches and 21 for the four-day matches. However fast bowler Shiran Fernando who was picked for both formats will sit out the series because of injury.
The tour will commence with the first 50-over match at the SSC grounds today.
One-day squad: Dhananjaya de Silva (Captain), Niroshan Dickwella, Lahiru Udara, Lasith Croospulle, Oshada Fernando, Pabasara Waduge, Kamindu Mendis, Ashen Bandara, Janitha Liyanage, Sahan Arachchi, Pulina Tharanga, Dunith Wellalage, Dananjaya Lakshan, Dilshan Madushanka, Pramod Madushan, Nishan Madushka, Ashian Daniel, and Nisala Tharaka.
Four-day squad: Kamindu Mendis (Captain), Minod Bhanuka, Pabasara Waduge, Nipun Dananjaya, Nishan Madushka, Nuwanidu Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrema, Lahiru Udara, Avishka Tharindu, Sahan Arachchi, Nisala Tharaka, Santhush Gunathilake, Dilshan Madushanka, Mohammed Shiraz, Udith Madushan, Prabath Jayasuriya, Suminda Lakshan, Lakshitha Rasanjana, Jeffrey Vandersay, and Amshi de Silva.
Australia ‘A’ squad: Sean Abbott, Scott Boland, Pete Handscomb, Aaron Hardie, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Henry Hunt, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Nic Maddinson, Todd Murphy, Josh Philippe, Matt Renshaw, Jhye Richardson, Tanveer Sangha, and Mark Steketee.
