LB Finance finishes 4th in 25th Singer MCA Premier League 2018

The performance of LB Finance, the little boys in the ‘big’ league for the first time, is most commendable. LBF finished 4th in the 25th Singer MCA Premier ‘League’ 2018 and now has entered the Final of the ‘Knock Out’ segment of the League .

 They were really a thorn in flesh to league winner, MAS Intimates Unichela, as they inflicted the only defeat on them in the league stage and beat them in the Knock out Semi Finals. In the league table of points, LBF with 5 wins, 3 defeats and a No-result were in front of the seniors HNB, Teejay Lanka, Sampath Bank and DIMO. 

 Holding the No. 4 position in the league table was an advantage to LBF in the knock out, as they advanced to the Semi Finals over Hayleys Group (No. 9) and HNB (No. 5), which were rained off. LBF will confront Teejay Lanka (formally Textured Jersey) in the Final of the Knock out, this Sunday, 29 October at the MCA Grounds, commencing 10 a.m.  Teejay Lanka finished 6th in the league table with 3 wins, 3 defeats and 3 no results. 

  In the Knock-out, the league position was an advantage to Teejay Lanka too, as they bypassed Sampath Bank (No. 7), and Kanrich Finance, which ended in no results. But they entered the Final in a convincing manner, beating League No. 2 Commercial Credit and Finance by 4 wickets with 17 overs to spare. 

  The match winners for TJ in the Semi Final were, Chalana de Silva (3/21), Lasith Malinga (2/19), Sachithra Senanayake (2/36) & Shalika Karunanayake (60 not out) In the Final on Sunday, Old Ben and Lanka Cavaliers founder member, Basil Perera is the MCA appointed match Referee cum adjudicator.
