One of the consistent performers in the golf circuit Kushal Johnpillai won the Club Championship 2021 which concluded at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) course recently. Another junior player and national pool player and 17-year-old Trinitian Haroon Aslam ended as the runner-up in the annual event which saw more than 60 golfers teeing off.
Kushal also won the Nearest to the PIN which was selected at the 17th hole while another top-class golfer Ravindra Wijegunaratne won the event for Longest Drive in the 1st hole.
This was the 84th event of the history of NEGC which started the Club Championship way back in 1933.
