The Opening Ceremony of the NPL Final was held with the
participation of SLC VP Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa
Kotmale Kings became the Champions of the Nuwara Eliya Premier League 2021, a T20 competition played at the Radella Cricket Ground recently.

During the finals of the five-team competition, Kotmale Kings defeated Maskeliya Sunrises by five wickets to grab the Championship of the inaugural Reha Steel NPL 2021, which was organised by the Nuwara Eliya District Cricket Association with the assistance of Sri Lanka Cricket.
The five teams namely the Kotmale Kings, Maskeliya Sunrisers, Hanguranketha Tuskers, Nuwara Eliya Gladiators, and Walapane Night Riders comprised of players representing cricket clubs spread across the Nuwara Eliya District.
The finals were played on Sunday at the picturesque Radella Cricket Ground, with the participation of Minister of Wildlife and Forest Conservation C.B. Rathnayake, as the Chief Guest, who is also the President of the Nuwara Eliya District Cricket Association.
Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, Sri Lanka Cricket Vice President Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa, Sri Lanka Cricket Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne, Sri Lanka Cricket Honorary Secretary Mohan De Silva, Sri Lanka Cricket Treasurer Lasantha Wickremesinghe, and Nuwara Eliya District Cricket Association Secretary Jagath Jayasundera, also graced the occasion. S. Thirichelvam, the owner of the Reha Steel Firm, which is the title sponsor of the tournament also was present.
Maskeliya Sunrisers, after putting into bat by the Sunrisers, scored 106 runs from 18.2 balls, whilst Kotmale Kings chased the score in 19 overs for the loss of just 5 wickets.
The Champions were awarded a sum of Rs. 150,000 along with the Trophy, and the Runner up Team was offered Rs. 100,000.
