Former Thomian cricketer and top class golfer on any course, Ken de Alwis walked away with the RCGC Centenary Trophy with the last round best card with a nett score of 284 at the North East Monsoon Meet 2022 which took place at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) over the last four weekends. Meanwhile the 12-year-old Junior Golfer, Thejas Rathis Kanth too was in sparkling form ending as runner up at the same event with a Nett score of 284 giving a good promise over the last couple of months with some good golf.
Over 175 golfers teed off in the annual and much looked forward event which saw a good crowd on the last day at RCGC.
Top class golfer, Chanaka Perera too was in sensational form when he accounted for the Clifford Cup, Annual Gold Medal and Nandasena Perera Trophy. The former Kingswood Hockey player and rugby promoter, Nayana Dehigama was the Nett winner at the ABC division at the Grand Prix 2021/2022 event.
Young golfer, Yannik Kumara returning to golf after a lapse of few months bounced back in the same event with the Gross 7th runner up.
Two more promising Junior golfers plus brothers, Reshan Algama (14) and Keshav Algama (12) both ended as runner up in the Sir Earnest Fernando Trophy 2022.
