Action at Isipathana versus St. Joseph’s
Unbeaten Isipathana College moved a step closer in order to regain the Schools League title when they beat St. Joseph’s College by 16 points (1 try, 1 conversion, 3 penalties) to 13 Points (1 try, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) at Havelock Park yesterday.
At the short breather, winners led 7/0.
The game was an error full one with Isipathana missing no less than three try scoring opportunities. Meanwhile Joes settled well in the later half but the difference between both teams was a solitary penalty. Joes too made number of errors and in the last 10 minutes played their hearts out.
With this win Isipathana are a yard faster towards the league title which will be decided in their encounter against Royal next weekend. Both Joe’s and Wesley will not have a chance for the league. Referee was Gihan Yatawara.
