The inaugural Saints Quadrangular Tournament saw hosts St. Peter’s winning in Basketball, and Joes securing cricket while Antonians accounted for the shorter version of the rugby at Bambalapitiya last weekend.
The tournament was organised for the Centenary celebrations of St. Peter’s College. Four leading catholic schools St. Peter’s College, St. Joseph’s College, St. Benedict’s College, and St. Anthony’s College participated in these events. St. Joseph’s College secured the T10 league in the Saints Quadrangular competition beating St. Peter’s College by seven wickets.
Meanwhile Antonians showed top class form and confidence in sevens rugby after their win at the National School Games which took place in Bandarawela where the Katugastota lads ended as champs.
They handed off the hosts 31/7 last weekend in the sevens final at Bambalapitiya. At the short breather winners led 14/5.
Roshen Tharusha Kumara was Player of the tournament and Sahan Keethsiri won the player of the finals award.
St. Peter’s College secured the basketball trophy, beating St. Benedict’s College by 74 points to 24.
