High Commissioner of Pakistan meets President of Sri Lanka Football Federation

High Commissioner of Pakistan Maj. Gen. (Retd) Muhammad Saad Khattak met with Sri Lanka Football Federation President Anura De Silva, at Independence Avenue Colombo, yesterday.

The High Commissioner, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, gifted a made in Pakistan football & sports kits to the President of Sri Lanka Football Federation. 

The President appreciated and thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for this kind gesture. During the meeting, the High Commissioner emphasized that Pakistan and Sri Lanka share strong bonds of friendship, love for sports is what joins the hearts of Sri Lankans and Pakistanis. 

He further said that Sri Lanka, like Pakistan, is a sports-loving country and the Sri Lankan school system is quite active in keeping the youth’s passion towards sports alive. He also emphasized on the need of enhancing sporting interactions between the two countries especially with football, to strengthen the already strong relations.
