Sri Lanka will need to settle things against two tough opponents in Asia Rugby Hong Kong and China in the Group stages

The touring Sri Lanka Women’s Sevens squad of 12 players were named (subject to ministry approval) recently for their Asia Rugby Sevens 2021 tour of UAE.
The eight teams event will be worked off in Dubai on 19 and 20 November with the finalist booking their flight to South Africa for the Women’s Rugby World Cup (Sevens) 2022. Sri Lankan girls will have two tough encounters against Hong Kong and China along with Malaysia in the group stages.
The experienced women’s outfit at the Asian circuit is led by Dulani Pallekondage with only one player, Dilani Polhewage to make her debut for the national team. Veteran in the sevens circuit, Anusha Attanayake is nursing with an injury and her final fitness test will be done early next week before the tour.
The outfit is coached by former Trinity, Kandy SC, national sevens and 15s player, Saliya Kumara. Women’s outfit is sponsored by EFI with Moose Clothing and WebXpay coming in as co-sponsors.
The touring squad is as follows.
nNimesha Wijewadrdane, Dilini Kanchana, Nipuni Rasanjali. Dulani Pallekondage (Captain), Jayanthi Kumari Dilrukshi, Umyangana Thathsarani, Theekshana Liyanage, Anusha Samraweera, Dineshika Munasinghe, Ayesha Perera, Dilani Polhewage and Anusha Attanayaka (subject to fitness).
