Enjoining Order issued against local Manchester Soccer Academy

The Colombo High Court issued an Enjoining Order against the Manchester Soccer Academy of Kollonnawa on a legal fight initiated by the United Kingdom’s world-famous Manchester United Football Club.

High Court Judge Ahsan Marikar issued this order on 3 June, preventing the Defendant Manchester Soccer Academy from using the logo and crest which are allegedly visually deceptive or confusingly similar to that of Plaintiff Manchester United Football Club. Manchester United Football Club initiated Intellectual litigation against the Manchester Soccer Academy of Kollonnawa regarding the alleged trademark and copyright violation.

Manoj Bandara and Arthika Selladurai, instructed by Sudath Perera Associates, appeared for Plaintiff Manchester United Football Club, more famously known as “Man U” that competes in the English Premier League the highest level of English football.
