Niroshan Dickwella, opening the batting, made an early claim for a place in the Sri Lanka ODI team for the three-match series against Bangladesh, starting tomorrow, when he hit a powerful 88 before retiring for Team B, led by Kusal Mendis, in their intra-squad one-day practice match against Team A captained by Kusal Perera played at BKSP Ground 3 at Savar yesterday.
Also joining the run feast were Kusal Mendis with 73 for Team B and, Wanindu Hasaranga and Ashen Bandara with 79 and 80 not out, respectively, for Team A.
In a high scoring 40-over contest that saw 596 runs being scored, Team A fell short by four runs to beat Team B being dismissed for 282 in reply to Team B’s score of 284-5.
This is the only practice game for the Lankan team before the commencement of the 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh on Sunday.
