In a bid to elevate the National Netball team to the next level after being crowned the Queens of Asian Netball, Dialog Axiata PLC, continuing its promise to support national sports has come forth to power the Senior National Championship for the fourth consecutive time.
The Senior National tourney will be worked-off from the 11 to 12 February 2023 at the Torrington Ground, Colombo, while the semi-final and the grand finale will be played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo on 13 February 2023 and will consist of 35 plus teams who will compete for the crown.
The Senior National Netball Championship acts as the premier talent identification tourney by the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka to expand the national pool with new talent especially as the National Netball team will be preparing for the 2023 World Cup which will be played from 28 July to 6 August in Cape Town, South Africa.
As the principal sponsor, Dialog Axiata has planned to LIVE stream the Semi-finals and the Final via thepapare.com, Dialog ViU mobile app and will also be shown LIVE on Dialog TV channel 140 from 1 p.m. onwards.
“In the last few years the team has improved in leaps and bounds, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dialog Axiata for being with us a valued partner,” NFSL President Victoria Lakshmi said. “Winning the Asian Crown was a major morale and confidence booster and for the team and we trust that the momentum that was built will continue at the World Championship later this year.”

In the last National Netball Championship tourney, HNB Netball team representing Mercantile Netball Association walked away with the Cup after defeating Airforce team 49-47 in the final.
