Trinity College pulled off a thrilling 25 points (3 tries, 2 conversions, 2 penalties) to 18 points (2 tries, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) win over St. Anthony’s College in their Dialog Schools Under-20 Rugby League encounter which was worked off at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium last evening.
At the short breather Antonians led 11/10.
The game was full of handling errors by both the Kandy teams. Antonians looked a yard faster in the initial half but with the possession they had, could not convert more points to have a healthy first half lead.
Trinity meanwhile was average in the first half but started attacking through their speedy three quarters in the later half. They looked like scoring whenever they worked their three-quarter line which was lightning fast.
Antonians scored their two tries through Omitha Dissanayake and Sadula Athokorale. Conversion and penalties were taken by Sahan Keerthisiri. Meanwhile Trinity scored their tries through Sheveen Premarathne and Anuhas Kodituwakku. Kovida Dissanayake did the try conversion and put over two penalties. Meanwhile Aattab Manzil put over the last try conversion. Referee was Ishanka Abeykoon.
