Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 Competition

One aspect of the Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 competition came to an end with the completion of its 26th week. 

As mentioned last week, Coupon No. 26 was published in the Sunday Times of 25 March, with votes accepted till 12 noon on 29 March. And as outlined during the past several weeks, the final results will be made public next Sunday (8 April). 

This wait will be until Dialog Axiata›s online voting portal - www.dialog.lk/cricket - closes its voting facility, which has been open for the past six months, at 12 noon on Thursday, 5 April. These dates and deadlines were mentioned from the inception of the Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 on 1 October 2017. 

The Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 can be considered a massive success with schoolboy and schoolgirl cricketers getting involved this year with great interest. Besides the two customary categories - the All-Island and Emerging Schools - the newly introduced Girls› Category was a success. 

Coupons were continuously published for 26 weeks in the Sunday Times, the English dailies Daily Mirror and Daily FT as well as Sinhala dailies Lankadeepa and Ada. In addition, Dialog Axiata›s Online Voting Portal - www.dialog.lk/cricket - played a major role, working together with social media channels. 

When the officials results were made public last weekend, S. Thomas› College›s Dellon Peiris led the All-Island Schools category, Denuwan Perera of Carey College led the Emerging Schools category and Harshitha Samarawickrama of Anula Vidyalaya led the Girls› School category. 

With readers and ardent followers getting time until 12 noon on Thursday, 5 April to cast their vote online, Sunday, April 8 will be a day filled with anticipation for all those who are in the competition. The results of the final count (Week 26) will be revealed with the inclusion of online votes next Sunday, 8 April.
