In a bid to mould the hidden sportspersons in schools around the country into champions in the field, Farm’s Pride Ltd., Mother Company of Crysbro brand, officially launched its newest project, Crysbro Next Champ.
Crysbro Next Champ is a unique project, aimed at discovering and rewarding talented young sportsmen and sportswomen from every nook and corner of the country. Further, the participants will have the opportunity of learning from the veterans of the field and they will be provided guidance on necessary physical and dietary requirements.
Crysbro Next Champ is the brainchild of Farm’s Pride Ltd. Chairman and Managing Director Mohamed Imitiaz. It is the need for more young Sri Lankans to shine at international level tournaments which drove him to launch this project. The Next Champ Project was officially launched on 14 March 2017 at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
An annual Crysbro Next Champ mega colours night will be held to recognise the winners of different categories with the Crysbro Next Champ of the year award. This will be awarded for 30 different categories of sports, including 100 meters dash, 400 meters dash, high jump, best batsman and so on. Accordingly, Crysbro Next Champ will comb the country in its mission to discover sportsmen and sportswomen who display real talent and will harness their true potential.
Sri Lanka has many potential international sports stars at school level, who unfortunately, do not receive the proper guidance and support necessary to shape them into superstar sportspersons. Further, Crysbro Next Champ Facebook page acts as a platform to facilitate needy sportspersons with financial aid and sports gear via crowd funding. All Sri Lankans can witness the performance of these talented young sportspersons on Channel Eye, every Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
“The selection will include a fairly transparent process, where performance of each sportsperson is reviewed. Hence, this will help young talent from rural and low income backgrounds receive the professional training needed to qualify for and to win international tournaments. Crysbro, as a responsible company, dedicated to build a stronger future generation, believes in facilitating the needs of these potential sports stars,” Farm’s Pride Ltd. Senior Manager Marketing Amores Sellar said.
The Crysbro Group has broadened its horizons and is geared up for an island wide expansion of its Commercial Poultry and Agricultural activities. This is being achieved with the establishment of a modern Broiler Production Farm with the latest technology in Galgamuwa, followed by the proposed production complex to meet its own needs in poultry feed. Thus the Crysbro Group, along with its subsidiaries Midland Breeders Ltd., Golden Grains Ltd. and Wayamba Development Ltd., have provided direct employment opportunities for over 800 individuals living in most parts of the country.
Furthermore thousands of farmer families from Central, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces have benefited from Crysbro’s out-grower projects which silently contribute towards the development of the country.
