Reuters: Sri Lankan cricket captain Thisara Perera said his men were confident on becoming the first team from the Island nation to record a series win in India in 20 years.
The visitors ended their-12 match losing streak with a sublime performance against the hosts in the first one-day international (ODI) match in northern Dharamsala city. Perera said the team had an opportunity to “do something special” and notch a series win in India, a feat which no visiting team has been able to pull off since 2015.
The second match will be played at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium in northern Mohali city on Wednesday (13 December) and Perera, who played for Indian Premier League side, Kings XI Punjab in 2014, knows the conditions all too well and was expecting a high scoring encounter.
