Former Sri Lanka fast-bowler and fast-bowling Coach Champaka Ramanayake will replace Bangladesh’s (BAN) High Performance Unit’s Head Coach Toby Radford, who will not be available for the upcoming home series against Ireland Wolves, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed on Thursday.
Radford, who replaced Simon Helmut, arrived in October for the High Performance camp and was credited by many for having played an important role in young batsmen shining at the Bangabandhu T20 tournament.
High Performance Unit Manager Jamal Babu revealed that Sri Lankan Champaka Ramanayake will replace Radford as the Head Coach for the series against Ireland Wolves, which involves one four-day game, five one-day matches along with two Twenty20s.
“Toby is not coming during the home series against Ireland Wolves as he is sick and won’t be able to travel to Bangladesh. Champaka has already joined the training camp in Chattogram and he will be in charge during the series,” High Performance Unit Manager Jamal Babu said on Thursday.
