Sri Lanka Women’s and Chilaw Marians CC skipper Chamari Atapattu scored an attractive 99 off 72 balls (4 sixes, 13 fours) and claimed 2 wickets for 23 with her off-breaks, but her single-handed effort was not enough to stop Air Force SC A from winning by eight wickets in a SLC Women’s Division One cricket tournament match played at FTZ grounds, Katunayake yesterday.

Yashoda Mendis (67 off 91 balls) and Oshashi Ranasinghe (56 n.o. off 66 balls) put on an unbroken 94-run stand, and off-spinner Inoshi Priyadharshani took four wickets with her off-spin to star in Air Force’s victory.

Sri Lanka Women’s ODI slow left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera took a career best 6 wickets for 18 runs to bowl Navy SC to an eight-wicket win over Air Force SC B who were shot out for 48. Amadhi Wijesingha, an 18-year-old all-rounder from Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya, excelled with bat and ball to bring Colts CC a 37-run win over Army SC B. Amadhi top scored with a patient 58 off 93 balls to enable Colts total 132-9 off 45 overs and then followed it up with figures of 3 for 24 with her right-arm medium-paced seamers to dismiss Army SC B for 95.

The left-arm spin of Sugandika Kumari and off-breaks of Ganesha Chamari who took seven wickets between them resulted in Army SC A beating Seenigama CC by four wickets. Seenigama CC were put out for 105 and Army SC A lost six wickets chasing down the total.
