Colombo Rugby Football Club (CR & FC) was suspended from immediate effect and will take no further part in the League and Super round for 2019/2020 rugby season. This decision was taken at a Council Meeting which took place 2 days ago.
The incident occurred in their game against Police SC where they brought the game in to a halt when they almost took the team out in the earlier half and then the team walked off the field 20 minutes before the final whistle when their skipper Omalka Gunaratne was not allowed to take the field due to sore eyes.
Further the Club was given a penalty of Rs. 350,000 and the Team Manager who was responsible for the action will be suspended from taking part in any rugby for the next 3 months.
