The 5th Annual SLIBFI Cricket Sixes 2018 concluded successfully at the NCC grounds on 2 September, with CLC Islamic Finance emerging as Champions, following a very exciting final against a past winner of the tournament, Amana Bank PLC.
Trade First and Amana Takaful emerged as the winners in the Plate and Bowl categories respectively. This year’s tournament witnessed a total of 17 teams competing for the Adl Capital Challenge Trophy.
The event, an annual one, brought together not just members of the Alternate Finance Institutions but also clients of these entities. It was also a day of fellowship among not just the entities but also members of the families of the various players.
Individual awards were presented to the outstanding performers, with winners representing the champion team and the runners up.
The Best Bowler Award went to Shakib from Amana Bank for his haul of six wickets whilst conceding a mere 38 runs, including a hat trick.
CLC swept the other categories, including the Best Batsman, Sangeeth for his 73 runs with 3 innings unbeaten, and the star performer, Lakmal, grabbing both, the Man of the Final for his 33 not out and an incredible bowling analysis of 10 runs for 2 wickets, and the Man of the Tournament for his all-round performance of 80 runs, with three unbeaten and bowling figures of 3 for 33.
