CH&FC shocked second-placed Havelocks Sports Club 27-25 in a thriller at Havelock Park.
CH were outstanding in this game while Havies’ three quarter line was very ordinary, missing out on a number of try-scoring opportunities. The park club badly missed their star player Kevin Dixon, who is still recovering from injury and will be available for the knockout tournament next month.
Defending league champions Kandy SC dominated proceedings in Ratmalana with a 10-try blitz yielding a 64-12 win and helping them maintain their number one position in the league.
Meanwhile, CR&FC edged out Police 33-31 at Police Park after a gallant second half effort by the cops, who just missed out on a win.
Navy did well to beat Army 28-10 and pushed the soldiers down to fourth position.
