‘Battle of Thomians’ hockey encounter

Nations Trust Bank has come forward to sponsor the ‘Battle of the Thomians’ 4th hockey encounter between two of the leading hockey playing schools in Sri Lanka, St. Thomas’ College Matale and S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia.

The two schools – one by the sea and the other in the hill country, boasts of producing top hockey players of national and international fame and have been playing competitive hockey for decades. The encounter will be played for the Eric Hulungamuwa Challenge trophy on 3 November at the Astro Turf commencing at 4 p.m.

The encounter is jointly organised by the Matale Old Thomians’ Hockey Association and Mount Lavinia Old Thomians’ Hockey Union. The main sponsors Nations Trust Bank handed over the sponsorship package to the heads of two schools recently at its head office.
