Bangladesh will leave for Sri Lanka on 12 April to play two Test matches as part of World Test Championship, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury has confirmed.

“Both Tests will be at the same place. Bangladesh will stay in Colombo. Tentatively Bangladesh are supposed to leave Dhaka on 12 April. They will have to quarantine for 6 to 7 days with abiding by all the protocols,” he said.

Sri Lanka will then visit Bangladesh for three ODIs in May, which will carry points for Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-23. They will land in Bangladesh on 20 May.

“We are hoping Sri Lanka will come on May 20 after completing the Test championship series. The series will start soon after Eid-ul-Fitr.”

The match fixtures are yet to be released by either of two boards.

Bangladesh have played one series since pandemic so far. They returned with 0-2 defeat in Tests against West Indies after hammering in the ODIs (3-0) at home.

The Tigers are in New Zealand to play three ODIs (as part of CWCSL) and as many T20Is.

Sri Lanka have toured South Africa for two Tests before hosting England for same number of matches, all of which resulted in defeats. They are taking on West Indies in a multi-format tour. (bdcrictime.com)
