Peterite schoolboy Akalanka Peiris missed out on qualifying for the final of the Men’s 100-metre Backstroke event in the swimming event at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games 2018 yesterday.
Akalanka ended the heat on 57.34 seconds to get qualification among the top 16 players for the next round. He finished round two on 57.35 seconds, securing seventh position.
Akalanka will feature in the 50-metre Backstroke and the 50-metre Butterfly events at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games 2018 on 10 and 11 October.
