AIS hosts Inter-International Schools Swimming Championships for 25th consecutive year

In 1996, the then Principal of Asian International School Goolbai Gunasekara and Dr. Frank Jayasinghe, then Chairman of the Association of Heads of International Schools came up with the idea of staging an Inter-International Schools Swimming Championship. Hosted and sponsored by the Asian

International School with the participation of seven international schools, this proved to be a resounding success among both participants and parents alike. So much so that this year marks its 25th year! 

Asian International School will host the 25th Inter-International Schools Swimming Championship on 9 and 10 November at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex, with 22 schools and over 1,000 participants in five age groups, competing in more than 100 events. 

Asian International School who has the distinction of organising this swimming gala uninterrupted for the past 25 years has witnessed many swimmers of national standing emerge from this event, many of whom have gone on to represent Sri Lanka.

This year too, the championships are bound to generate much excitement as it is an event which is looked forward to by both students and parents of the international schools. 

The heads of international schools will act as Chief Guests in distributing awards on both days of the meet.
