Hutch has stepped up to support Sri Lanka’s most popular motor racing event – Fox Hill Supercross 2013 – conducted annually by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), as the principal sponsor and exclusive telco partner.
The company and brand is no stranger to Fox Hill races, having being associated with the SLMA in 2008 and 2009. This year’s Supercross has great significance to the history of the legendary ‘Fox Hill’ in Diyatalawa, as it marks the centenary year since its inception in 1913.
The partnership with Fox Hill Supercross this year is of even more significance to Hutch since its launch of 3G services in 2012. The company has completed its nationwide 3G roll out across all 25 districts and is delivering a superior experience that is different to the customer.
Speaking at the media briefing organised by the SLMA in association with the Sri Lanka Auto Drivers Association held recently, Hutch Chief Executive Officer Thirukumar Nadarasa said: “Our business focus has always been to build and reinforce a strong rural network and serve the community that required communication facility most.
“Today, the Government is highly focused on developing the regional economy. To support the achievement of a robust regional economy, affordable and reliable telecommunication facilities are vital. This is even more important in the case of broadband data connectivity, with which all the regions can now be connected to Colombo and the rest of the world to facilitate commerce and social development.”
He also said that motor racing is all about speed thrills and experience which is exactly what Hutch 3G is all about. Hutch 3G networks assures internet users quality service they could truly feel the difference which is the most vital factor in a 3G network besides having been able to enjoy seamless connectivity in any part of the country, he added.
SLMA Commandant Brigadier Indunil Ranasinghe and Fox Hill Organising Committee Chairman said that they were happy to welcome Hutch back as a principal sponsor in the centenary year of Fox Hill and the 21st annual Supercross races.
“Hutch’s presence is a source of strength to the organisers in view of the network’s capacity stability and consistency in its approach to service,” Ranasinghe said.
