The top 16 Gents golfers booked their berth for the knock out stages of the Sri Lanka Golf conducted 132nd Amateur golf tournament which was worked off at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Colombo. Meanwhile, the 116th Ladies event which is played concurrently for F B De Mel Cup, too reached its semi-final stages.
Top class golfer Amrith de Soysa, young golfers K. Danushan and Nirekh Thejwani, all qualified for the pre-quarter final stages. Meanwhile, Taniya Balasuriya, Anouk Chitty, Shayanika Fernando and Anushya Weerakody qualified for the quarter-final stages.
Two Indian Gents, Varun Murugan and Suraj Doshi too entered the top 16 in this event.
